Excuse Letter for Missing Night Shift

Dear HR Officer

Due to an emergency situation at home I was unable to report to my evening shift 11pm-6am Wave 2 at Building B. I had to take my mother to the nearest emergency ward, she suffered a myocardial infarction and is currently in the ICU. I will be reporting to work tomorrow, I just need to ensure that the doctors give my mother the best care possible. I also need help from the company regarding the scope of our Medical Aid Card, my mother will be requiring surgery. Please do know I am her only son and there's no one else I can rely at the moment. My relatives will be here in two days so I can report for work.
