Dear Sir/Madam,
Your application to take part in the Elderly Convention to be held in Amsterdam from 14 to 21 May 2011 has been successful. Please accept my warmest congratulations.
We are holding a summit for the elderly so that your generation, the 60-75 year olds, could make known their experiences to today's generation, but above all indicate the aspects they regard as essential in the longer term. It is your generation which will exercise responsibility for our youth and it is up to you to guide and lead them to the right path.
I am therefore counting on your enthusiasm and motivation. I am convinced that your work will be of a high quality and make a useful contribution to the work of the geriatric summit itself.
You will also have the opportunity to meet alongside the members of the high council. The resulting exchanges of views will most definitely constitute a source of mutual enrichment.
Attached is a note containing information on your stay in Amsterdam. I would ask you also to consult the Convention website (http://blogger.com), on which there is a section devoted to the Geriatric Summit.
Participation will be free of charge; however, participants must make their own travel arrangements (including visas) and pay their travel and accommodation costs.
In exceptional circumstances, financial assistance may be considered. English and French will be the working languages and simultaneous interpretation in these languages will be provided.
The Convention Secretariat is at your disposal to help you prepare in the best possible way for the responsibilities which await you.
I look forward to meeting you and, above all, to hearing what you have to say.
Best wishes,
Rip Van Winkle
