A sample Recommendation Letter for a student as part of an application to a university, grant or a workshop program. Such recommendation letters are often given by teachers, professors, politicians, respected individuals from the community or the academe.

To Whom It May Concern:

Good day to you! This letter serves as a recommendation letter for Miss Marjorie Honeycutt as she seeks to become part of your prestigious accelarated program at Duke University.

Miss Honeycutt has been an exemplary student in high school. She is a gifted writer and essayist as well. I have taught at Lamierda High School for the Arts for 18 years and I am proud to say that Miss Honeycutt is a rare gem, a student that stands out once every decade from a sea of hundreds, from students already pre-selected by a discerning academic board.

Her academic performance is excellent which creates a balance for her other extracurricular talents as an athlete. For that reason, I am proud to recommend her to be part of your institution as she is well-adjusted and yet thrives impeccably under pressure. Though she has a naturally competitive spirit, she is at best sensitive and caring, as she would go over and beyond in assisting her peers and friends in the community.

Miss Marjorie Honeycutt graduated Class Valedictorian for the Lamierda High School for the Arts in 2010. As a member of the High School swim, cycling and track teams, she is a national traithlon champion. She is also receive the meritorious Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Award for her worked published in the Omaha Daily.

I am hoping that you will place into consideration my recommendation of Miss Marjorie Honeycutt. She is a highly-determined, hardworking and promising individual who deserves a chance at higher education in your prestigious university. For any concerns or questions about Miss Marjorie Honeycutt, please feel free to call me during my office hours.

Thank you very much.

Complaint Letter from a Parent Addressed to the School regarding the Harrassment and Bullying of a Student

A complaint letter from a concerned parent regarding the harrassment and bullying of her son in class. The letter is addressed to the Principal with a call for immediate action.

Dear Principal Victoria,

My son Alex Reynolds is a third grade student under Mrs. David's class. I would like to call your attention on these two students from his class: Jon Meyer and Adam Zandler. They have been bullying my son up to no end.

Recently, these boys have brought an air rifle to school to show off to their peers and during recess, the said air rifle was lost and the blame is being place on my son. They are accusing Alex of theft. This is not true. My son is a well-mannered boy, we have made it a point to raise him with good values and respect for other's rights and property. My son has told me of his predicament in school over the weekend, all the bullying and the harassment he has gone through. He is very uncomfortable of bringing this up to his teacher as he is afraid of being branded a snitch by his peers. However, I see that my son can no longer endure such treatment and he is willing to talk about the situation with these boys at your office.

Moreover, I am shocked that an item such an air rifle has gone unnoticed in the school premises. It maybe considered a toy, but it is not a child's plaything, an air rifle is meant to be used under the supervision of adults. Also the presence of such a weapon may cause harm to other children.

If possible, I would like to request for a meeting with you and his teacher, even perhaps the boys' parents to address the issue. I am kindly asking your office for help with this matter.

Thank you very much

Mrs. Bea Ness

Appeal Letter When You Can't Make House Payments: Avoid Foreclosure on your Home

A sample appeal letter when you can't make payments to your house. File a polite letter to your mortgage lender to avoid foreclosure on your home.

Dear Lender,

I receive your notice last July 6, 2010 and the current rate is too high and with the recent financial climate, I am unfortunately unable to make payments for my house this quarter. I would like to avail of another arrangement as soon as possible as I would like to avoid having a foreclosure on my property by all means.

I would like to consider other options available maybe perhaps a revised repayment plan that you could recommend? All I am asking is a readjustment.

I hope you could kindly consider my request.

Thank you very much,
Libby Williams
