A lot of promising job applicants get elbowed-out by the more aggressive ones. In this economic climate, its about time any job seeker learns to follow-up with the headhunter after an interview. Here's a post-interview letter you can email asking about your job application status.

It was lovely meeting you last July 15, and I would just like to thank you for taking the time to interview me for the Digital Marketing Position at Suffix Inc.
Just to update you, I am now studying SugarCRM which was the software you stated is required for the job. I have now mastered its basic functions and I can't wait to put my new found CRM skills to the test.

Thank you letter for Interview
Thanking the recruiter for the job interview shows your genuine interest in the job, the interviewer may even keep you in mind for other job offers as well.
