Sample Excuse for Mother Missing Work Due to Child's Illness

Dear Boss,

Sorry I had to miss work today. But I did call in early and got Steph to fill in for me.
My boy has taken ill, really high grade fever and I had to take him to the doctor.
I do have his prescription and doctor's note with me.
I'll be there at work tomorrow morning.
