Follow Up Letter on Job Application to Human Resources

Dear HR,

Thank you for giving me an interview last August 3 for the Engineer position in the company. I really appreciate the effort of the HR staff that my qualifications for the position really suited my background. I think its a good match.

In line with this, I would like to know the status of my application, if the results will further take days or weeks? As I am also looking into other opportunities at the moment. If I am not selected for some reason, it would help to know so I can move forward with my career plans. I hope you understand. Please let me know when you have a free moment.
