Leave Letter Due to Storm and Flood Damage to House

Dear Ma'am Lovitz,

I am writing to you with utmost urgency to request for an employee leave effective November 16, 2010. Due to the floods that have affected our homes. I must take a week off work to personally supervise the repairs and cleaning of our house. Our home was badly damaged during the storm, and we were not spared any personal effects, money or items of value. So our family must come together and do all these repairs ourselves.

I hope you understand our situation. I will be returning to work the following Monday.

Sudden Leave of Absence by Boss

Obviously, someone from the senior staff who can call on and demand a leave of absence from her staff and company. However, still thoughtful enough to let everyone know of her personal situation.

I am currently in a conference trip in [place] representing our company at the annual [event]. Unfortunately my husband has fallen ill at home and I am returning a day earlier than planned. Please have someone in the staff arranged for my flight home, as I would like to turn over my work responsibilities at the office before I head to the hospital. Also please note, my sudden leave of absence for the next three days.
