Congratulations on your Engagement

Dear Demi,

Accept my sincere congratulations on your marriage. I felt quite upset at first, a bit slighted even, at your having kept us (your old best friends) in such total ignorance of your engagement to Mr. Kutcher. Why did you not let us know that you were married? We heard of it by the merest accident and of all things through gossip.

But our family knows your husband well, and if any man can be worthy of one so truly wonderful as you are darling, we believe he is this person. All we want is for you to be happy and to feel loved, and Ashton is such an affectionate young man capable of making you a very blissful woman, and this assurance gives us true pleasure.

From us all, we wish you all the best in life!

Sincerely,
Bruce

Turning Down an Invitation

Dear Mary Kate,

I just read your emails.

I'm sorry to tell you that I have a family engagement scheduled for next Saturday, and I'm unable to accept your invitation to the Singles Network Party.

I would like to make it up to you though, now that I really want to give speed dating a try. I hope you could accompany to the next event.

With kind regards,
Lindsay

An Open Letter to Letterbarn Visitors

Dear Visitors,

Do you find the letters on the Letterbarn helpful? Is it exactly what you were looking for? What other types of letters should I have?

Hey what do you know I have one follower after months of toil. And it makes my heart a flutter! The site is also huge in Mumbai for some reason.

But no one has bothered to comment whether I'm spot on with these letters?

Hmmm... anyone out there?

Love,
the lone blogger in the barn

Declining a Gift due to prior commitments

Dear Friend,

I am very sorry that I cannot have the great pleasure of accepting your kind gift. I have a previous engagement for that night from which I know I cannot be excused.

You may imagine my disappointment as I am a big fan of Hannah Montana. Hope you could give my concert ticket to another dear friend who would also be thrilled to attend the event.

Declining an Invitation to a Party

Dear Friend,

I'm sorry but I have to decline your invitation for Friday night. We have a prior engagement at my Mother-in-law's house, of which the whole family will dine together to celebrate her birthday.

Hoping the weather will prove favorable for your celebration as well, and I wish you the best and most fun at your party,

Cheers,

Declining an Invitation to Conference

Dear Sir:

I want to thank you for your invitation to the 4th Annual Stamp Collector's General Assembly in Osaka, Japan. It is an important honor to be deemed worthy to attend such a conference.

At this time I must unfortunately ask that my slot be given to another fortunate candidate. There are family commitments, volunteer and business obligations, as well as other issues which prevent me from attending your annual event at this time.

I want you to be assured that this in no way represents a lack of commitment or interest in the community. It remains a very important aspect of my life. I will continue my involvement and support to the fullest extent that I can.

Sincerely,
Attendee

My name is Clara Thomas and I am a 20 year old student, currently studying Early Childhood Education at Sinclair Colleges. I am looking for babysitting work on evenings and weekends.

I am very good with all facets of child care including school delivery and pickup, after school care and meals. I am a caring, clean and well-organized person. I have a clean police record and a driver's license.

I hope that you will contact me soon about an interview so we can further discuss this opportunity.

Teacher's Letter to Parents

Dear Parent or Guardian,

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your child this semester [or year]. I love teaching grade school arithmetic because I care deeply about each of my students. I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues we cover in class. The main goal of my course is to cover the fundamentals of math. Over the course of this year, we will introduce our students to the wonders of fractions and the four basic operations of Math (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division).

Additional information about the class is provided in the syllabus attached to this email. Please read that syllabus and sign the detachable portion on the bottom of this note in order to indicate your understanding and support of the classroom system. There is also space provided for you to express any questions, concerns or comments. Students should return that portion to me.

Also note that if you ever have any comments, questions or concerns, I am available for phone calls and meetings (by appointment please) each day before and after school. To schedule a meeting, you may contact me via [insert e-mail address or phone number].

I am excited about working with your child. I welcome questions or comments, and am looking forward to a great year!

Sincerely,
Teacher Anne
